About John Wieland

John Wieland’s real estate journey began in 1992. Back then he and a friend started a property management co. In 1997 he bought his first tri-plex. He then bought 5 more apartment buildings. That lead him to get his real estate license, but he used it for investing.

In 2003, John and his wife and moved to Costa Rica. John bought over 100 acres of ocean view property. He became a partner-owner of the Coldwell Banker Costa Rica master franchise. Under his leadership, he grew the brand from 2 to 12 offices and over 65 agents.

John was also a luxury broker. His niche was in the new luxury residential market and sold 122 properties in ten years.

John, his wife and daughter, relocated to Delray Beach, Fl. in 2015.

They bought their first downtown Delray Beach home in 2018. After a couple years to settle in, he got his Florida real estate license…

John’s brand, MrDowntownDelray, positions him as a Delray Beach green real estate enthusiast focusing on Delray Beach real estate. Being a seasoned investor in multi-family properties, investments and with luxury consumers, John is capable of helping a wide range of customers - yet focuses that energy in Delray Beach. He also enjoys promoting local businesses via his growing marketing channels.

John is an avid writer. And as a realtor he received his GREEN realtor designation. That opened the door for him to also write about sustainable building and living ideas, ways to save money via smart homes, and educate people about how to live with a lighter footprint.
